Rotherham United FC steps further up to the Centerplate

Rotherham United Football Club has announced the extension of its full-service contract with hospitality caterer Centerplate. The company will manage catering and events sales and marketing services at the club’s AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The contract extension comes half way through the third season of an initial five-year deal.

Centerplate
has helped to build up the conference and banquet business at the stadium, reporting double-digit returns via clients from outside the local area, as well as over 600 corporate clients on match days.

Announcing the contract extension, commercial director Steve Coakley, said: “Our partnership with Centerplate has played an integral role in helping us to establish a strong foundation for realising the objectives we set out to achieve for catering and hospitality services at the stadium.”

Adrian Dishington, chief operating officer of Centerplate’s UK Division, added: “I am delighted that Rotherham United have elected to extend the contract, and with the club’s recognition that the Centerplate team has delivered beyond expectations.

“The solid repeat business among our convention and banquet clients demonstrates that we are making it better to be there and keeps guests coming back for more.”

Centerplate, headquartered in the US, services more than 115m guests each year at over 350 entertainment, sports and convention venues across North America, Europe and the UK.
