Chris Parry-Jones, head of human resources for the Gallowglass Group, has been invited to join the company’s Board of Directors.
In 2011 Parry-Jones provided the impetus for the creation of a new company, Gallowglass Training, and previously worked with organisations, including the EU and the OECD.
Parry-Jones acquired event production experience, working on major projects such as the Eurotunnel launch and the opening of Bluewater shopping centre. She joined Gallowglass in 2006 and says the training arm of the company is committed to maximising the potential of its staff.
“In an increasingly qualification-based environment, there’s a need to be proactive in developing staff to ensure that not only their legal but also their moral obligations are met,” Parry-Jones said.
Gallowglass group managing director Nick Grecian said: “HR has to be at the core of what we do. The diversification of the group and the nature of the contracts that we work on mean that Chris and her department are always in demand to ensure everything is done correctly. In HR terms, Chris is a big-hitter and will be a key member of our board going forward.”
Gallowglass Crewing was established in 1996 with an initial core crew drawn from the London Scottish Rugby Club. Its purpose was to provide complete crewing support services for corporate events, exhibitions, festivals and official ceremonies.
Since then a series of related but independent companies have been added to the core service offering.
