InterContinental London – The O2 to showcase at Confex

The new InterContinental London – The O2 on the Greenwich Peninsula, due to open its doors before the end of the year, is to showcase its extensive meetings and events offering at International Confex this year.

The hotel will unveil its facilities, including a 3,000sqm pillar-free ballroom to rival many of Europe’s largest single event spaces.

Located at the core of the hotel’s purpose-built conference centre, the ballroom will accommodate up to 3,000 guests and offer pre-function space in excess of 1,500sqm over two floors. The management says it hopes to attract large-scale conferences, exhibitions, banquets and award ceremonies to this regenerated part of the capital.

The 18-storey hotel will offer riverside views of The O2 and Canary Wharf through floor-to-ceiling glass windows within the pre-function area.

“We are delighted to be launching our impressive meetings and events proposition at International Confex 2015, which provides a professional platform to make lasting relationships with conference organisers and event planners looking for a welcome new venue option of this size in London,” says Raj Shah, commercial director at the Arora Group, which operates the hotel.

“Greenwich is a destination at the heart of London’s most vibrant entertainment centre which has witnessed a huge resurgence since the Olympics, and the appetite for bringing events here remains strong. We are confident that our proximity to London City Airport and Greenwich North tube, and our accessibility to the West End and the City via the river, will attract great brands, key events and a growing number of business travellers to this destination, and fully believe it’s time that a hotel and meetings and events space of this size, with these facilities, arrived here.”

Meeting planners and event organisers can meet the InterContinental London – The O2 events team at International Confex, 18 -19 February, Olympia, London, on stand CC38.
