ICC Birmingham plumps up its catering team

The International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham has strengthened its catering team with the appointment of Claire Smith as Conference & Banqueting Manager; Ceri Davies, Stephen Penn and Harprit Singh Kainth as Conference & Banqueting Supervisors, and Robert May as Food & Beverage Manager for the ICC’s catering brand, Amadeus.
The ICC is part of the NEC Group, recently sold by the city council to LDC in a deal worth £307m.
Prior to joining Amadeus at the ICC, Smith worked at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in event operations. She says: “I wanted the opportunity to work on bigger events and I am delighted to join a purpose built conference centre. I have a great team and my focus is on working with them to ensure that we exceed the expectations of clients and delegates alike.”
Davies previously worked for Amadeus at the Library of Birmingham and at the Genting Arena.
General manager for Amadeus at the ICC, Martin Davies says strengthening the catering team will stand it in good stead for the opening of the new Vox Conference Centre at Resorts World Birmingham later this year – “a new offering to the market that will be managed by the experienced team at the ICC”.
