Andy Gibb, chief commercial officer of GES EMEA, has announced his departure from the company to assume the post of managing director of the Ricoh Stadium, Coventry.
Gibb, who joined GES at the beginning of 2012, has played a significant part in driving GES’ growth over the past three years.
Nick Marshall, executive chairman of GES, reflected on Gibbs tenure, saying: “Andy has been a superb ambassador for our company and the industry as a whole, through his collaboration and support of the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA). Not everyone knows that Andy once played top class rugby for Wasps, and we’re thrilled he’s going to be managing director of Wasps’ new stadium. It would be fair to say that this is Andy’s dream job, and we’re thrilled for him.”
Andy Gibb paid tribute to GES saying: “Joining GES in 2012 was a big moment for me, and since then I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most talented and creative people in the industry. It’s been an exciting journey from the outset, and I’d like to thank GES and Nick Marshall in particular for a fantastic three years, and look forward to welcoming my old colleagues to the Ricoh which after all, is just around the corner.”
Gibb will depart GES at the end of February.
