UK speakers to play big part in Convene academy

UK meetings industry figures figure prominently in the faculty line up for the Convene Professional Development Academy and the subsequent two-day programme which forms part of the Baltic MICE industry trade show in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius, 11 – 12 February 2015.

Effective sales and marketing strategies and tactics will be a dominant theme, with industry overviews being provided by Rob Davidson from the UK, while Marcel Vissers from Belgium who will speak on the European international association sector.

Paul Kennedy MBE, also from the UK, will provide insights into key account management techniques.

Sarah Fleming from the UK will deliver practical advice about how to win international association business and the academy will also see Ireland’s Patrick Delaney deliver a keynote about using networking techniques to boost business success.

Linda Pereira from Portugal will again speak on the topic of site inspections.
During the two show days the education programme will include the UK’s Thomas Bangert speaking about the effectiveness of Trip Advisor and the UK’s Fiona Pelham will talk about creating events which are both profitable and sustainable.

A session on meeting design will also delivered by Julien Carlier from France.
Convene Exhibition Director Jolanta Beniuliene said the programme would add up to “a compelling combination of practical sales and marketing workshops delivered by acknowledged experts in the field, combined with new topics designed to stimulate thought and aid business development”.

Organisers aim to attract 160 senior meeting buyers from the corporate, association, agency sectors.

Convene 2015 takes place on 11-12 February 2015 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO.

The third edition of the show will feature key providers of meetings products and services from nine Baltic Sea region destinations.
