A campaign to give jobseekers a glimpse behind the scenes at Marriott International is one result of the company’s overhaul of its careers site and job search process.
Behind-the scenes photos submitted by the hotel group’s employees form part of the #PictureYourselfHere compaign designed to provide jobseekers with an authentic glimpse into what it is like to work at Marriott International.
#PictureYourselfHere follows commissioned research in 15 countries to better understand user behaviour when looking for a job and navigating careers sites. Job descriptions were found to be a primary factor in deciding whether or not to apply for a job within a company. Now, Marriott claims 79 per cent of users navigating through its careers desktop site immediately click into the search and apply process and begin viewing job descriptions for open positions.
#PictureYourselfHere attracted 17,000 images submitted by Marriott employees showing them interacting with their workplaces, workspaces and colleagues.
Many of these images feature in the enhanced pages of the Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton careers sites.
“Our ultimate goal is to find and engage the best talent in the industry,” says Matthew Ruck, Director of Talent Acquisition and Career Development Europe, Marriott International.
“We are continually reinventing our careers sites and job search process to engage jobseekers, especially millennials, in the ways that matter most to them. The fact that our own employees are co-creators in making these enhancements possible is exciting.”
