Manchester Central strengthens sales team

Manchester Central has strengthened its sales team with the addition of Assistant Director of Sales, Tom Forshaw.

Forshaw joins after spending 10 years in senior management positions at TUI Travel PLC – his latest position being MD of Thomson Sport.

As joint founder of a startup specialist sports tour operator, Forshaw sold the business to TUI in 2008. He continued to head up the business and established partnerships with rights holders including the FA and the NFL, as well as multiple professional football clubs enabling Thomson Sport to report record sales revenues of over £52m in 2012.
“As a proud and passionate Mancunian, I’m thrilled to join the team at Manchester Central,” he says. “It’s a great opportunity to go back to my roots and focus entirely on sales.
“The venue has a great reputation for delivering world class events across multiple sectors and I’m looking forward to developing relationships with clients and continuing to boost their return on investment.”
Forshaw’s appointment follows the introduction of a number of new sales positions, including the role of Assistant CEO – Sales, Marketing and Communications taken up by Elizabeth Faulkner.

Faulkner replaced Paula Lorimer who left her role as Sales Director and Deputy CEO earlier this year.

Since taking the helm, Faulkner has expanded the sales team in line with the growth of the business; establishing a 12-strong team.
