One of Europe’s largest banqueting hotels, Lancaster London on Hyde Park, claims it will be the first hotel in the UK to introduce beacon mobile tracking technology to transform networking and event experiences for guests.
Lancaster London’s App will launch in January 2015, and its creators Live Group claim that the technology will revolutionise how venues interact with guests, and how guests interact with each other.
The app’s ‘Indoor Positioning’ function provides an interactive map of the venue, enabling guests to quickly locate themselves, other delegates, and areas of interest within the venue.
The new beacons installed by Live Group are hardware devices designed to interact with smartphones as delegates move around a venue. This enables delivery of live location-specific information anywhere a beacon is present. It also gives an unprecedented opportunity to reach visitors in a personal, contextual way.
Live Group MD Toby Lewis, said: “This is the first step in our strategy to create a growing number of partnerships with forward thinking, like-minded venues. Those hotels who have this technology permanently installed will also save costs for clients who choose to use that venue.”
Lancaster London recently won Conference & Banqueting Team of the Year in the Hotel Cateys 2014 for its service. Its refurbished conference rooms have the ability to cater for up to 3,000 people.
