“It’s time for the in-house corporate event organisers to be recognised for their creative skills,” says Anita Howard (pictured), Managing Director of Red-Box Communications which is launching the International Corporate Event (ICE) Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on 9 July at the British Museum in London and is aiming to embrace a selection of industry sectors including finance, auto, petrochemical and pharma, FMCG, NGO/Charity.
“This is a wonderful way to reward the efforts of a huge number of people who have remained largely unrecognised for the tremendous work they do to create compelling customer and client experiences,” says Sarah Alspach, Head of Communication & Brands of BNP Paribas.
While Joanna Lawlor, Global Events Director AstraZeneca, believes it is “absolutely right that in-house professionals are rewarded for their commitment and hard work as they are teams which often don’t get the recognition they deserve. Industry event awards are usually the arena of the big event agencies of the world, so the different approach with these awards being given to in-house corporate event planners for a change, is a welcome addition to the industry calendar”.
ICE organisers say that: “whether a corporate event team sits within the Comms, Marketing, Procurement or Finance teams, the consistent and undeniable fact is that the in-house corporate event planners do not always have a seat at the table. It’s time to change that”.
