International Confex has announced it is to partner with The Associations Network to deliver the Associations Events Forum on the first day of the show, 18 February 2015.
The Associations Network is a membership organisation of over 15,000 employees of associations, societies, federations and other membership organisations. It will be inviting its members, specifically those who organise events, to attend the show to benefit from a day of specific educational content, networking opportunities and the opportunity to meet the variety of destinations, venues and event suppliers on the show floor.
Organisers Mash Media (publisher of CN) say the association market has been a high priority for International Confex and that working with the Associations Network provides an ideal platform to attract association event organisers with considerable decision making and purchasing authority.
“Associations represented over 25 per cent of visitors to the 2014 show,” said Event Director Liz Agostini. “As they make up such an important target audience for the events industry, we wanted to provide associations with an experience tailored specifically to their needs. By partnering with the Associations Network we are able to tap into the wealth of experience and knowledge that the association has and work with them to put together a fantastic programme.”
The Association Events Forum will kick off with a dinner the evening before International Confex with a select group of association event organisers.
Hosted overnight at the Hilton Olympia, this group will enjoy further benefits throughout the day.
Educational content will focus on influencing attendance at your next event, discovering what sponsors want and how to deliver it, and also on discussing the relative benefits of using a PCO or organising your event in-house as well as making sure your content hits home.
The Forum will be chaired by Associations Network, Executive Director Damian Hutt, and will be open for any association event organiser to attend.
“I am delighted to be working with International Confex.” said Damian Hutt. “It has always been an important event in the calendar for event organisers and with the show regaining strength with its new owners, Mash Media, I want to show my support. Association event organisers do not always enjoy the same benefits as their corporate colleagues and therefore a tailored programme and a few incentives are a nice way to reward their efforts in a burgeoning industry.”
Anyone wishing to register for the Associations Dinner and/or the Associations Events Forum should register using the Hosted Buyer Application portal on the International Confex website.
International Confex is co-located with The Event Production Show the Office Management and PA Show and takes place on 18-19 February 2015, at Olympia London.
