Ashfield picks up award for Bitesize training programme

Leicestershire-based event management agency Ashfield Meetings and Events won gold in the Organisational Development category for its Bitesize training and development programme at the Training Journal Awards 2014.
The awards were launched in 2006 and aim to celebrate the best in learning and development practice. Ashfield celebrated with 16 other winners at the awards ceremony, which was held at The Brewery in London, 26 November.
The agency says it introduced its Bitesize training and development programme to ensure employees could learn relevant skills, network and share best practice across a broad range of subjects including company initiatives, soft skills and legislation.
In 2013, Ashfield delivered 74 Bitesize courses covering 33 different subjects in six countries. On average, each employee attended six courses in the calendar year.
The Organisational Development category assessed agencies on the success of the programme, focusing on the challenge, the business objectives and the solution.
“We invest a great deal in our staff, recognising the hugely important role each individual has in the business,” says Nicola Burns, Global Managing Director. “The Bitesize programme is just one of our initiatives that we are proud to offer to all our employees as part of their continued professional development. The programme provides a career path, tailored to each individual, delivering a framework of transferable skills and learnings. It has driven quality, improved succession planning, increased morale and contributed to attracting a top quality workforce within the business.
“We are currently introducing new elements to our wider training programme that will be delivered through our recently launched secondary brand Spark Thinking and will develop our staff’s creative confidence,” she adds.
