Unique Venues of Manchester, a consortium aimed at attracting high profile conference and events to the city-region has been launched.
Through the group’s website (uniquevenuesofmanchester.co.uk), organisers can search and filter the 17 member venues by the size of event space they require, location or type of venue.
Members of the consortium will beable to highlight special offers and news and there will be a dedicated area for local industry suppliers to help organisers source additional services.
Created and run by event managers from unique venues around the city, the group says it hopes to follow in the footsteps of Unique Venues of London and Unique Venues of Edinburgh, which are already established within the industry.
Also recently launched is uniquevenuesofgreatbritain.co.uk, which is aimed at bringing these groups together to create a national identity.
“Client demand for unusual and alternative spaces for conferences and events has continued to grow and we wanted to find a way of working collaboratively to showcase what Manchester has to offer,” said Chair of the steering group, Mathew Jayne. “A website was the natural choice and we hope clients will find the site a simple and effective way to find a great venue for their event.”
Unique Venues of Manchester members include The Lowry, The National Football Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, Emirates Old Trafford and Imperial War Museum North.
