Qatar Airways was named ‘Best Business Class Airline’ at the Business Traveller Awards 2014 for a second year in a row. The awards were held at The Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London, on 6 October.
The latest award follows Qatar Airways being named ‘Best Business Class Airline’ by Skytrax at the Farnborough Air Show.
Qatar Airways was also named as a finalist in Business Traveller’s Best Airline, Best Long-Haul Airline, Best Economy Class, Best Middle Eastern Airline and Best Cabin Staff categories.
In May, Qatar Airways launched the first all-Business Class daily service to operate between Doha and London Heathrow, with an A319 offering 40 bespoke seats.
Jonathan Harding (pictured left), Qatar Airways’ Senior Vice-President, North, South and Western Europe, said: “To win this accolade for a second year is a testament to the five-star service and quality that our customers have come to expect from Qatar Airways. It is an honour to win this category against such strong competition and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us and who has travelled with us.
Qatar Airways took delivery of its first A380 on 17 September 2014. The aircraft is the first of 13 on order and will commence operations on the QR003 and QR004 London-Doha route. Featuring a tri-class configuration of seating over two decks offering First, Business and Economy Class, the Qatar Airways A380 is part of a growing fleet of 137 aircraft serving 144 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
The oneworld alliance, which Qatar Airways joined nearly one year ago, was also named as Best Airline Alliance at the Awards.
