Mammoth Events reports 82% rise in profits

In it’s second year of trading Manchester-based Mammoth Events has reported a sales increase of 91 per cent to £561k, with profits rising by 82 per cent to £68k for the financial year to 1 August 2014.
The company’s clients include Lyreco, National Union of Teachers, Fragrance Foundation and BAE Systems, as well as the International Wine & Spirit Competition, UPM and the Institute of Directors.
Managing Director George Thompson says: “For a start up agency to have billed more than £1m in its first two years of trading is quite remarkable. With no office or full time staff, aside from the two directors, our model is quite unique and we’re pretty sure there were people who thought it couldn’t be done, but we’d seen the same model enjoy success in other industries so we had tremendous confidence.”
Client Services Director Amanda Gilmour adds: “Our business runs in a two-year cycle and the vast majority of our key events have already been secured for year three, including some multi-year deals. Over the last two years our clients have consistently reported considerable increases in quality across all aspects of their events and we’re delighted to be working with them again.”
