The Fork Lift Truck Association is to bring its 2015 Awards for Excellence to Telford’s International Centre (TIC) to mark its 21st anniversary year.
The TIC management has hailed landing the largest event in the materials handling industry’s calendar as a major coup. The awards dinner was previously held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
TIC’s Sales and Marketing Director Alison Griffin put in a lot of work to win the business, visiting the Association at its Newbury base. She told CN: “We’re excited about the event win, and we hope this is just the beginning of a long-term relationship that will see us building a strong partnership with the Association as we move forward.
“For our team, when it comes to attracting new business it’s all about relationship management and getting to know the people involved – sometimes sales processes can become too convoluted when often keeping things simple and using the direct approach can be so much more successful.”
Sponsors and winners at the Awards will be coming from across Europe and the Far East for the 2015 competition, to be held at the TIC on 28 February 2015.
Peter Harvey, the Association’s Chief Executive, said: “These awards are the materials handling industry’s longest established and most prestigious event.
“The TIC is a fabulous venue and one which we believe will be the perfect setting for an event of this magnitude.”
The event is expected to attract 400 people.
Tom Gray from The International Centre and CEO of the Southwater Event Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Fork Lift Truck Association for the first time.
“We are developing a growing reputation for hosting events of this kind for major trade associations, because our venue is ideally placed when delegates are arriving from all over the UK and beyond.”
The event will be compered by ITV London Tonight’s Jonny Gould.
