Summer EVCOM carried on the Summer Eventia legacy and brought the events and visual community together for a series of incisive sessions with leading speakers.
The one-day event at Olympia London was opened by Pauline Ploquin, Chief Operating Officer of US-based agency Struck, who shared some thoughts on the ‘Art of Collaboration’, drawing on her experiences of being involved in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games creative team.
Another highlight was keynote speaker Bobi Carley (pictured), commercial Director of Disneymedia+ UK & Ireland, who revealed how her 25-strong team integrate ad sales, promotions and marketing solutions teams and collaborate with aligned brands such as Sky, British Airways and Iceland to share Disney’s content.
Summer EVCOM and the evening social and networking event, EVCOM Fest, saw 200 delegates, speakers and sponsors participate in a mix of plenary and breakout which included a choice of three content strands: Content & Channels, Technology & Innovation and Business & Ideas Generation.
One highlight that received plenty of social media coverage was Ezri Carlebach’s session ‘A Story a Day’, which attempted to show delegates that telling stories is essential for good business.
Dean Van Leeuwen, founder of Tomorrow Today gave the final presentation which focused on how a generation gap influences attitudes and behaviours.
Marco Forgione, EVCOM CEO, said: “Olympia London provided a spectacular venue and backdrop for a day of superb content and inspiration with vibrant debate, discussion and conversation throughout the day. I was delighted to see a broad range of our industry and membership participating.” Summer EVCOM 2015 will be held at the ACC, Liverpool 1-3 July.
