Izania Downie launches ‘The Alchemy Partnership’

Izania Downie, former CEO of Eventia, has launched a new venture ‘The Alchemy Partnership’ designed to offer digital marketing training and communications consultancy for the events industry.

Says Downie: “I have always been passionate about the events industry and over the past four years since being immersed in technology I have become a digital advocate. I now understand how digital marketing can support events as a channel to attract an audience, amplify a message and continue the conversation.

“I saw a gap in the market to bring this critical training to the events industry so by partnering with the Digital Marketing Institute I can help bridge that gap. I am bringing together accredited digital specialists to educate event experts in how best to utilise the many effective tools that are available to help promote their events.”

The DMI diploma, says Downie, is accredited by the European Qualifications Authority and the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The syllabus advisory board includes: Facebook, Google, Linkedin, Twitter, Paypal, Ogilvy, RMG, McCann Blue & IP. The board also collaborates with the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN).

“All innovation in marketing is through digital channels nowadays and skill requirements are constantly changing. It’s essential for events experts to understand how to best plan and execute their promotions using digital channels,” adds Marriott Lusengo from the Digital Marketing Institute Communications Consultancy.

“We are delighted to be working with The Alchemy Partnership to bring our accredited Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing to the events industry.”

Launching her new venture at Summer EVCOM, 17 September, Downie said The Alchemy Partnership was partnering with EVCOM to deliver digital marketing education programmes to the event industry association’s members.

“It is significant that I am launching today at Summer EVCOM, a conference that is dear to my heart being one of the founding organisers of the inaugural Summer Eventia over eight years ago.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with Izania Downie’s newly formed venture and over the coming months we will be working with The Alchemy Partnership to provide EVCOM members with training, advice and guidance on digital marketing,” says EVCOM CEO Marco Forgione.
