Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has rebranded its Gulf Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition (GIBTM) to a table top, one-to-one meetings format, in line with the existing Indian, African and American industry trade shows in its IBTM portfolio.
The new Gulf brand is IBTM Arabia and the show will move to a new venue, The St Regis Hotel Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE on 10-12 February 2015.
All previous GIBTM editions have taken place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
IBTM Arabia 2015 will include a new closed-door event format based on mutually matched business appointments, which the Reed team says will provide more touch points for exhibitors and buyers.
The revamped show will include an all-inclusive pricing structure and the plan is for a one-to-one ratio of Hosted Buyers and exhibitors.
Organisers predict the three-day event will feature 200 exhibitors and the same number of meeting planners.
The new concept is a result of feedback from key stakeholders and professional MICE organisations, said Lois Wilcox, Exhibition Manager, IBTM Arabia.
“Foremost in this transformation is that IBTM Arabia will be an all-inclusive solution where an innovative meeting pod design customised with the exhibitor’s corporate branding will give privacy to meetings between Hosted Buyers and exhibitors,” she added.
IBTM Arabia will be held with the support of Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau.
The new format now follows a similar pattern to the ’table top’ IBTM India and IBTM Africa. IBTM America is also on the move towards the one-to-one appointment format from 2015.
“One of the integral changes is that we have now effectively levelled the playing field. All exhibitors now have an equivalent amount of floor space and their meeting pod is exactly the same price, size and design, with the exception of their respective corporate branding,” said Wilcox.
