East Midlands Trains deal could save 50% on delegates’ tickets

The Leicester and Leicestershire Convention Bureau has announced a new partnership with train operator East Midlands Trains to offer discounts of up to 50 per cent off tickets for delegates attending business conferences, events or exhibitions in the city and county.
Leicester is currently a 69-minute train journey from London with East Midlands Trains.
Peter Koukoularides, Account Manager at East Midlands Trains, said: “We have a great track record of working with partners across our route to encourage more people to travel by train. We have a particular focus on business travellers and offer cost effective fares to encourage conference organisers to use our services so they can choose the impressive conference facilities in Leicester and Leicestershire. The partnership with Leicester Promotions gives us additional avenues to explore and promote.”
Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, which manages the local convention bureau, added that the partnership with East Midlands Trains offered “a sustainable and cost-effective means of travel for individual business visitors attending events here, but also offers a solution that makes it financially attractive for conference buyers to place conference business within the destination”.
UKinbound is set to bring its convention to Leicester, 11-13 February 2015, with 250 delegates expected to attend.
