CHS Group partners to go separate ways

The partnership behind the Leeds Conference and Hospitality Show is to split, with Sue Beverley, currently co-Director of CHS Group with business partner Emma Cartmell (pictured), stepping down as Director. She has also sold her 50 per cent share of the business to Cartmell.

CHS Group was formed in July 2012 and developed into a broader marketing and events agency specialising in helping venues and destinations raise their revenue from corporate meetings business.

“This is a mutual agreement as we both want to move forward with separate projects,” a joint statement from Beverley and Cartmell said.

The pair said they hoped to collaborate on future projects and were “ending on a high, following the success of this year’s Conference and Hospitality Show”.

Beverley is taking up a new role in the autumn with UKTI helping UK businesses with International Marketing and Export Strategies.

Cartmell, meanwhile, hopes to grow the 2015 Show and double the size of the Hosted Buyer programme.

The 2015 show is set to take place 24 March at Leeds’s largest exhibition venue, The Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road. An external structure in 2015, Cartmell says, will add 25 per cent more floor space. The show has attracted around 500 visitors a year.

“2015 is a significant leap forward for us. We work hard to ensure that our buyers are genuine meeting and event planners with business to place and that we offer a good balance of education, information and entertainment during the event.”
