Three British venues lead the way in the list of Top 100 arenas compiled by Pollstar.
The O2 – London still tops the list of worldwide ticket sales in the quarterly listing. The Pollstar listing is based on arena attendance for live entertainment.
The Phones 4U Arena, Manchester is second and the SSE Hydro is now in third place, just 10 months since opening.
The SSE Hydro has hosted 120 live entertainment performances and welcomed over a million fans through the doors. The last quarter alone has included, among others, Justin Timberlake, McBusted, Katy Perry, Prince, The Eagles, Dolly Parton, Kings of Leon, and Robbie Williams.
“To have reached number three on the Pollstar rankings in less than a year since opening is incredible and demonstrates just how well the venue has been adopted by Scottish fans,” said John Langford, Director of Live Entertainment at The SSE Hydro and SECC.
“Glasgow and The SSE Hydro are firmly established as major players in this exciting industry.”
