QuickMobile has warned the event industry not to adopt social media half-heartedly.
Banks Holcombe, General Manager – EMEA at QuickMobile told The Meetings Show audience that too many companies decide to have a Twitter or Facebook page “because they feel they should”.
“Having social media requires a strategy, and companies need to know their audience, and which networks they are using,” he added.
He went on to discuss how social media is a shift in communication, blurring professional and personal lives.
“It is about creating a bi-lateral conversation that is mutually beneficial. The power is in our own hands,” he said.
Elsewhere, an audience vote revealed that tools that aid networking and help planners with ’session checking’ are priorities when it comes to technology.
