Chambers Travel Group has been awarded the contract to provide business travel services to the Houses of Parliament from 1 September 2014.
The award followed a competitive tender process which lasted six months. The contract was previously held by Hillgate Travel.
Chambers has deployed a team to work with House officials to deliver a “seamless transition” of the travel service.
An implant team of six Chambers staff will be based in Westminster servicing the differing travel requirements of a broad range of users, including MPs’ constituency travel, Lords’ Members and Committee travel.
Chambers will be providing a face-to-face travel service and plans to introduce an online booking tool as well as its bespoke web mobile travel portal MyCT, which acts as a gateway to the travel management company’s technology products. MyCT works on many devices, including smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC.
The Houses of Parliament joins Chambers Travel Group’s portfolio of existing public sector clients which include the Northern Ireland Civil Service and Glasgow City Council.
“We are delighted to have been awarded the Houses of Parliament contract after a comprehensive tender process,” said Chris Thelen, CEO, Chambers Travel Group. “Chambers demonstrated a robust understanding of the diversity required to service the Houses of Parliament’s different types of business travel needs.”
