UniSpace Sunderland gets 76% day meetings boost

New group experiences at UniSpace Sunderland have driven a 76 per cent rise in day meetings bookings.
UniSpace Sunderland, the conference and events arm of the University of Sunderland, compared its 2013/2014 period with the same period in 2012/2013.
A £2.3m refurbishment of National Glass Centre in 2013 included an overhaul of the hot glass studios, doubling its capacity and making the areas more suitable for group glass blowing experiences.
UniSpace now offers group experiences across its various venues, including wall climbing in the CitySpace building and TV and radio show recording in the university’s Media Centre.
UniSpace Sunderland Business Development Manager Sharon Olver said: “We’re delighted to see this boost in day bookings, thanks largely to the redevelopment of our group experiences. These are activities that you just won’t find anywhere else and we’ve received some great feedback already.”
UniSpace, which recently hosted The National Adoption Conference will be attending The Meetings Show for the first time this year on stand D12.
