Events agency, the Concerto Group, recently celebrated the 25th birthday of one of its 16 brands, Ultimate Experience, with a party for 500 clients took place at the Artillery Garden at The HAC. Ultimate Experience has been hosting parties at the City of London venue for the last 25 years. and this year guests were offered a summer menu but also introduced to Ultimate Experience’s new Christmas party designs for 2014.
Concerto CEO TA Dunleavy (pictured) said at the event: “Although we have ‘grown up’ considerably over the years, I believe the principles that underpinned UE’s launch 25 years ago are as true today as they were then: a passion for surprising and delighting clients with the delivery of exceptional events.”
The UE team says much has changed in the market in 25 years. Ultimate Experience MD Stephen Lawrence tells CN: “When UE first started to hosting parties at the HAC we did them on grass and with no roof lining. Organising big events without mobile phones, email and the internet was hard. We used to dispatch event managers with pocketfuls of 10 pence pieces for phone boxes.”
A quarter century also throws up the odd, sometimes very odd, incident. At the HAC marquee one year, Lawrence relates, one guest tried to check her sleeping baby into the cloakroom. “She got a little cross when we suggested this might not be a good idea!”
