Industry associations head for IFB in Liverpool

Several UK meetings industry associations will participate in the 50-day International Festival for Business (IFB) this June and July in the North West, including at a joint industry networking reception at Liverpool’s Liver Building, 1 July, sponsored by the Concerto Group.

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP), booking agency association HBAA, Association of British Professional Conference Organisers and the Event Suppliers and Services Association – among others – will hold meetings throughout the festival as part of a joint industry initiative.

The BVEP will host its Partner meeting at IFB, which will include site visits to the Albert Dock, the ACC Liverpool, Camp and Furnace and the Liver Building.

Michael Foreman (pictured), ABPCO immediate past chair and the association’s head of external relations, is leading the BVEP initiatives. “The International Festival for Business shows Britain at its most creative and innovative best,” he said.

“It’s only right for the events sector to play its part and be fully represented as the world of business gathers in Liverpool to work together to build better relationships.”

National Tourist Board, VisitEngland, British Destinations, The European Tour Operators Association and the Tourism Society are also all delivering events during the festival.

The IFB begins 2 June, and spans seven weeks this summer, gathering together the largest concentration of global businesses.
