ICCA UK and Ireland targets membership growth

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) UK and Ireland Chapter has welcomed a number of new members to the fold as it promotes broader engagement of the association.

New members and sectors include: meetings management agency Contendam, Hilton Worldwide venues, meetings support companies MICE Concierge and Genie Connect, destination marketing company Leicestershire Promotions and new marketing company Sool.nua.

ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter’s Executive Committee will meet during The International Festival for Business (IFB) in Liverpool on 1 July 2014 to discuss plans for increasing the association’s share of the global meetings market through workshops, education and best practice.

This will be followed by a networking reception at The Concerto Group Liver Building venue where representatives from key industry associations including the Business Visits and Events Partnership, the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers, the HBAA, the Association of Event Venues, and the official voice of the live and visual communications industry, EVCOM, will meet together as part of a joint industry initiative.

“As the global meetings economy strengthens and membership increases there is no better time to meet to discuss how we can best support our members to maximise their business opportunities,” says ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter’s Chair Kerrin MacPhie.

“This meeting has been brought about by Liverpool playing host to the first ever IFB, giving ICCA and other key industry associations a great reason to meet.”
