Headbutting and flashing reported at Glasgow event

Earlier this month Scotland’s Daily Record reported a very lively awards event at Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel, at which the organiser was accused of headbutting a member of the audience.

The evening of the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards turned sour when organiser Ruthanne Reid of software company INAA snatched back an award that had already been given out on stage. A member of the hairdressing salon team that had received the award, apparently erroneously, is then captured on video flashing her bum at Reid.

The same video appeared to show a restrained Reid later pushing her head towards a member of the 800-strong audience, which included guests TOWIE’S Mark Wright and former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan.

The Daily Record reported Dundee salon owner Ashley Hutton, 32, saying: “There were loads of things that went wrong, such as a salon having an award taken off them. I think that’s what started it.”

Reid later resigned her position at her salon booking service site INAA.com and sent an email apology to the awards’ guests. She denied the allegations of headbutting and said she climbed on stage when a guest announcer mistakenly announced the wrong winner.

Her Linkedin page (30 June), however, was showing her holding the role of Commercial Director at INAA.
