Harrogate International Centre (HIC) has made a major investment in the latest visual technology in an attempt to strengthen its position in the conference industry.
A £36,000 high definition, wide-screen projector has been installed in HIC’s main 2000-seat auditorium and has been described as ‘the flagship industry model’ by the venue’s Technical Manager, Ross Simpson (pictured).
He said: “Conferences today, particularly our medical and clinical conferences, need hi-res images and film.
“Very few venues can boast this kind of technology. The new projector gives us widescreen capability and we have a much better and more clearly defined image.”
The investment comes as HIC recently announced it would host annual conferences by the National Union of Teachers, the British Medical Association and the Royal College of Physicians.
HIC Director, Simon Kent said: “This is a top-end piece of equipment and represents a major investment in our facilities at HIC.
“We have to make sure we stay ahead of the game and it’s essential we invest. The new projector is just one of the ways we are making sure we deliver the best for our visitors.”
