Agency provider of employee and customer engagement solutions, Grass Roots, has provided its facilities team with a couple of brightly coloured electric vans.
Two Renault Kangoo ZE vehicles, running purely on electricity, have had the new Grass Roots ‘bubbly’ brand applied in the form of vinyl wraps. The agency claims the vans produce no carbon emissions and no noise pollution. The only pollute, it would seem, is with puns, with: ‘I run on elec-trickery’ the slogan plastered on the back.
It is the first time electric vehicles have been used at Grass Roots and the agency hopes it will lead to significant savings in the cost of fuel each month and a reduced carbon footprint.
The Kangoo ZE was selected by Grass Roots’ Fleet Manager, Ian Metcalf, following extensive research. The model won International Van of the Year in 2012 and its 100-mile range was an important factor in the decision. “The vans meet all our requirements and also look good,” said Metcalf.
Charging points have been installed at the headquarter office at Pennyroyal Court in Tring and at another local office. A third charging station is to be fitted at the Triangle Business Park location soon. Both vans will be used by the facilities team who cover the three sites in the Tring and Wendover area.
John Bunting, Chief Commercial Officer, is delighted with the look of the vehicles. “The colourful bubbly brand treatment has had a great reception from clients, suppliers and employees all around the world, and now we can proudly show off our fun-loving and energetic people and brand effectively. Grass Roots is one of the biggest employers in the local area and the vans will certainly be easy to spot – whether you’ve heard of Grass Roots yet or not.”
Grass Roots Meetings & Events has also announced James Thompson has joined the company as Account Director. Thompson, who previously worked at W&O Events and Ashfield Meetings & Events (as Universal World Events) in the USA and Asia, will be responsible for some of Grass Roots’ key accounts.
Thompson is the latest appointment that comes on the back of a number of recent business wins in the Financial, Automotive, and IT sectors.
Hannah Wilkinson, Client Services Director for Grass Roots Meetings & Events, welcomes James to the team: “With a variety of market experience, James is an ideal addition to the team. He brings the right style, aptitude and breadth of skills that are needed on key accounts. In the last six months we have defined our strategy, centralised teams in sales and solutions and up-skilled our people to develop solutions for clients based on multiple event disciplines. James fits into this picture perfectly and we are delighted to have him on board.”
