Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Christine Ford.
Ford joins AECC from Visit Scotland where she started on a graduate programme as part of the Event Scotland Team in Edinburgh, before relocating to the Glasgow office as a quality and tourism advisor.
Her new role in the company’s association sales team involves Ford strengthening the venue’s presence in the local and national markets.
“Business from the association market continues to grow year-on-year, the addition of Christine is great for the team,” said Louise Lonie, head of sales at AECC. “It is important for AECC and Aberdeen to have a strong presence in this market and we have the team in place to offer a great service to new, potential and existing clients.”
The AECC sales team is headed up by Lonie, with the association sales team being led by sales manager Steven Daun.
AECC will also host the 11th annual DEVEX Conference, 6-7 May 2014.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director says: “This annual event is always popular for the industry and attracts delegates from world-wide. The Centre last week hosted the Oil & Gas UK Achievement Awards and later this week we will welcome the AFC Player of the Year Dinner, and then All-Energy towards the end of the month.”
Aberdeen City Council has approved a new £200m venue for AECC Aberdeen.
