Following a £2.4m upgrade, 20 Bedford Way, a new bespoke conference, events and performance centre, in the heart of London’s Bloomsbury, has opened its doors to external customers.
The building was designed by Denys Lasdun, architect of the National Theatre and is an example of Brutalist architecture.
“We have developed the ‘20 Bedford Way’ brand and its accompanying website to reflect the strength and simplicity of the building and to attract the attention of external conference and event organisers to our facilities,” said Michael Walker, Head of Residence, Conference and Catering.
The flagship facility is the Logan Hall, a 930-seater lecture theatre and performance space.
The investment has renewed the dedicated conference centre entrance located at street level and also added a Costa Coffee bar facility to the main reception area, one floor above.
A wide range of flexible catering solutions are offered, from wine and canapé receptions in the Crush Hall through to a picnic style ‘brown bag’ lunch to enable delegates to take a break in Bloomsbury’s famous garden squares.
