The Ricoh Arena has formed a new official media partnership with regional radio station Touch FM.
The station broadcasts throughout Coventry and Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds and the agreement will involve Touch FM promoting events.
Liz Cooper (pictured), Marketing Director at the Ricoh Arena, said: “We will be working closely with the Touch FM presenters and behind-the-scenes team to highlight the varied and exciting events we have coming up on the horizon at the Ricoh Arena.”
Touch FM Chief Executive Steve Orchard said: “The iconic status of the Ricoh and its huge diversity of events makes the stadium an exciting and vibrant partner for us. Our broadcasters are really looking forward to sharing with our listeners all the excitement this great venue generates. Our portfolio of eight radio stations across the region provides a strong platform for promoting the great variety of forthcoming events.”
The Ricoh team tells CN that 19 new shows will be staged at the Ricoh Arena in 2014 while there have also been additional enquiries worth over £1.6m.
The Insomnia Gaming Festival broke new records for organisers Multiplay in April and newcomers to the Midlands venue this summer include national car care show Waxstock, railway modelling show RMWeb Live and over 50,000 spiders, scorpions and other insects at the British Tarantula Society Exhibition.
“From February to December 2014, we are expecting 115,172 delegates, an average of 10,470 per month, to attend a wide variety of conferences, exhibitions and shows at the Ricoh Arena,” said Cooper.
“It is important we update our overnight attractions since post-event networking is a vital element of the Ricoh Arena which is why a new entertainment programme is being launched in the G Casino this summer. Improving our infrastructure is also important and later this year the groundwork will start on a train station being built at the Ricoh Arena,” she added.
