Performance improvement and event agency BI Worldwide has taken radical action designed to help the environment by removing 120 desk bins out of its UK office in Newport Pagnell.
The desk bins have been replaced with 20 bio-degradable recycling points around the company office.
The desk bin removal has been welcomed by the 160 associates to ensure the company reaches it’s environmental goals says Managing Director, Mike Davies. “We want to reduce the waste we send to landfill sites and help the environment by maximising the amount we recycle”.
Davies admits the campaign is just one small step for each individual to make, but says that when you “add up 160 small steps in just one office, it starts to have a real impact”.
Other sustainable initiatives used by BI Worldwide include electric car-charging points outside its offices and rewarding employees for car sharing, walking or cycling to work. The agency also gives each of its 160 staff the option to take six days’ paid leave a year to volunteer for good causes.
BI Worldwide is part of the US$400m US-based firm Schoeneckers Inc.
