De Vere’s West One venue in media spotlight for EU debate

De Vere Venues West One, in central London, last week hosted a full media circus and politicians watching the exclusive live screening of the European Union debate between the Liberal Democrat and UKIP leaders.

The official media HQ for the event welcomed Sky News’ Kay Burley and BBC’s Norman Smith and other journalists who watched the political exchange from a private screening area set up in the Cambridge Suite at West One, located close to BBC Broadcasting House, where party leaders Nigel Farage and Nick Clegg were debating.

Additional meeting rooms at West One provided a base for gathered MPs from both parties to watch the debate. Senior political figures in attendance included Danny Alexander and John Redwood.

Nick Grimaldi, General Manager of De Vere Venues West One said: “It was an absolute honour to play host to a collection of the most prolific figures in both the UK media and political sectors. The entire team at De Vere Venues is proud to have played a part in such a hugely significant event in the political calendar.”

Following the debate, key figures from the Liberal Democrat and UKIP parties, along with audience members, came to West One from BBC Radio Theatre to meet gathered media and share their thoughts on the debate via a series of interviews and Q&A sessions.
