Conference Centres of Excellence goes Dutch

A dozen directors and managers from the Conference Centres of Excellence travelled to The Netherlands on a study tour 13-16 April, the first time the UK venue marketing association had ventured into Europe for a formal tour.

The CCE delegation visited four conference venues in Bergen, Dalfsen, Sint-Michielsgestel and Heeze, all members of the ‘Meetings and More’ organisation. Meetings and More provides quality standard benchmarking within its home market.

The hosts and CCE delegates discussed similar challenges and opportunities faced by their conference venues, including the changing expectations of the business delegate in today’s market.

“This was a unique opportunity to understand and experience how our European counterparts are delivering excellence to their customers. Our members are continually looking for ways to improve the delegate experience and seeing some of the innovation in The Netherlands has provided inspiration on many levels which we are excited to share amongst our peers,” said a CCE post-tour statement.

CCE, which numbers 35 members in the UK, will share the findings of the study tour with its members during a presentation at the annual conference to be held in July.
