A celebrity mystery shopper will be walking the aisles of International Confex this year to give an impartial view of the show.
The star, who is used to ’disguise’, has agreed to come along to the show in the guise of an event organiser and will give Mash Media, the organiser of the show, feedback on exhibitor behaviour, including friendliness, attentiveness, product understanding, demeanour and to ensure that exhibitors are exhibiting properly.
Mash Media strongly advocates the use of mystery shoppers to give an impartial view of an exhibition.
Former Newcastle, Everton and England footballer Peter Beardsley is a late call up to the football legends team put together on the NewcastleGateshead stand (J50), designed to entertain visitors to Confex.
Beardsley will take on Sunderland legend Jimmy Montgomery in a Friendly Football Derby match as part of a drinks reception to be held on day one of the show on the bureau’s stand from 4.30pm.
Visitors are also challenged to have a go and take on the two sporting stars themselves.
Paul Szomoru, Head of Business Tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “In the North East we love our football and with two top-flight clubs just a few miles apart, derby matches are always met with anticipation and excitement.
“This year, we’re delighted to be joined by the conferencing arms of both Newcastle United and Sunderland football clubs, so we wanted to bring some of the beautiful game’s passion with us to Confex.”
