Gordon Robertson, Edinburgh Airport’s Director of Communications, has been appointed as the new Chair of Marketing Edinburgh.
Former Chair, Alan Johnston, who steered the organisation since its inception in 2011, has retired to concentrate on his commitments in further and higher education.
Robertson has played an integral role as a member of the Marketing Edinburgh board for several years, including chairing the interim Marketing Edinburgh Management Group.
“I’m honoured to be taking on this position at such an important time for our city. An exciting new chapter is underway for Marketing Edinburgh and one that is focused on making sure that the city’s promotion is as cohesive, dynamic and efficient as possible,” said Robertson.
“For the first time we have a council-approved, comprehensive three-year business strategy, clearly outlining objectives and targets for the organisation. The This is Edinburgh campaign also set a new precedent for private business and public sector working together for the overall benefit of the city,” he added.
