The University of Sussex has joined Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP), a collection of unusual and sporting venues.
The university is located off the A27 in Brighton and offers a purpose-built conference centre with capacity for 250 delegates.
“We’re delighted that the University of Sussex has joined our portfolio of venues,” says LVP’s Head of Marketing, Richard Kadri-Langford. “We can provide the venue with great exposure to the agency market and at the same time provide our key agency partners even greater geographic coverage through a venue which can offer a variety of meeting and dining spaces.”
LVP recently announced that due to its sister company, Restaurant Associates, being awarded the catering contract with the global charitable foundation, The Wellcome Trust, The Wellcome Collection venue will continue to be part of its portfolio of venues for the next three years.
The £5m deal will see Restaurant Associates’ 45-strong onsite catering team deliver a new and improved food offering to 700 Wellcome Trust employees in their staff restaurant and café, as well as delivering conference and meeting catering and fine dining for large high profile events.
In 2012, Wellcome Collection unveiled a £17.5m development project by architects Wilkinson Eye. The development, due for completion in October 2014, will create up to 30 per cent more gallery space.
