Grass Roots features in Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list

International customer engagement solutions agency Grass Roots has been listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 list of Best Companies to Work For 2014. At the award’s ceremony, held at Battersea Evolution in London, 27 February, all 897 companies who entered were ranked and Grass Roots was placed 97th.

Headquartered in Tring, Hertfordshire, Grass Roots UK has now featured six times in the list’s Top 100.

Over 250,000 employees were surveyed for the list, and particular noteworthy employee responses revealed strong commitment at Grass Roots. Half the staff have worked for the company for five years or more, with almost one in five notching up at least a decade in service. Ranked 26th in the Wellbeing category, staff stress levels appear to be low and many feel they have struck a good balance between work and home life, according to the survey.

Employees at Grass Roots also think the company puts enough back into the local community with a score of 71 per cent – only 11 firms scored higher in this area.

“Featuring in the Top 100 for the sixth time is something we are extremely proud of,” says Chief People Officer at Grass Roots, Vicky Edwards. “The Best Companies survey provides us with invaluable information that ensures we continually strive to be a great employer and provide a great place for our people to work.

“Best Companies accreditation is important to us as an organisation demonstrating that we’re practising what we preach and that we regard our people as our most valuable asset.”

Francis Goss, Head of Employee Engagement at Grass Roots, adds: “Focusing on our employees brings real benefits such as improved workplace engagement; better staff retention; reduced recruitment costs; and greater financial performance. We’re conscious that there is always room for improvement though, and the deep-dive data that the employee survey reveals is incredibly important and enables us to identify areas that might need attention.”
