Dorset event management agency Brief2Event has announced the acquisition of Hertfordshire-based company Venue Team.
The purchase, for an undisclosed amount, was negotiated by Brief2Event Managing Director Guy Mason.
Emma Tett, the MD of Venue Team, will be staying on to ensure continuity of service and to develop the Brief2Event online business.
The acquisition supplements the core business of Brief2Event: finding venues, arranging corporate hotel programmes, and booking hotels linked to large events.
The Christchurch-based company was formed in 2007 and has grown through organic expansion and acquisition. It currently employs nine staff.
Brief2Event recently came runner-up in a performance benchmarking test carried out for the Hotel Bookings Agents Association.
Mason, who has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, said: “Venue Team was a perfect fit for us because it is an established business that brings expertise and experience.
“It also shares our values of great customer service, which is crucial in our business where there has to be a lot of communication between ourselves and our clients; quite often, we are used as an extension to a client’s events team, or as assistant to a busy PA.
“Venue Team has an impressive reputation within the industry and the future is certainly exciting as we continue to grow.”
Tett, who formed Venue Team more than 10 years ago, said: “I’m pleased to be staying on to continue to work with the same clients, to help expand the Brief2Event online offering, and develop the client interface.”
