Leicestershire-based Ashfield Meetings & Events, formerly known as Universal WorldEvents, is to deliver a new series of national and international meetings for existing client Chiesi UK.
The events include Chiesi UK’s attendance at the European Respiratory Society Annual Congress in Munich in September 2014.
The new appointment follows a procurement initiative conducted over a period of several weeks, culminating in a three-way pitch.
“Ashfield Meetings & Events has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the compliance and regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector which was a key driver in our decision making process,” a Chiesi spokesman said.
“Chiesi already works with Ashfield within other areas of expertise, therefore this is an extension of an already successful relationship. We are looking forward to working with Ashfield in the coming months and strengthening our partnership,” he added.
Luke Flett (pictured), Ashfield’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said the pitch process had been comprehensive. “It involved a cross-functional client team made up of procurement, compliance, event and brand stakeholders. As such we had to demonstrate our capabilities and understanding across all these disciplines, particularly our compliance expertise and cost-saving initiatives,” he said.
“The appointment supports the rationale behind our recent transformation to Ashfield Meetings & Events which is resonating with the healthcare market,” Flett added.
