Plans for new hotel at Butlins’ Minehead resort

Butlins and Butlins Events plan to further regenerate its Minehead resort with the introduction of a new £20m resort-style hotel.

The new development looks to replace some of the site’s existing accommodation and will provide corporate groups with a new overnight and breakout option. The property will also be made available for exclusive hire.

Following the launch of Butlins’ Wave Hotel in 2012 at the Bognor Regis resort, Butlins Events says this new planned development in Minehead is just another example of how it wants to further expand its corporate offering. Suitable for larger conferences and events, as well as smaller delegations, the new hotel will incorporate 206 rooms.

“The locale and sheer capacity of our Minhead resort lends itself to a host of corporate meetings, large events and teambuilding days,” says Simon Jones, National Sales Manager at Butlins Events. “The development of a new hotel onsite is another addition to our corporate offering, and will further enhance our year-round MICE offering.”

Butlins Minehead, located 60 miles from Bristol, offers teambuilding activities including zip wires, high ropes, sat nav treasure hunts and archery, as well as a Land Rover safari and coasteering activities available off site.
