Down Hall Country House, on Hatfield Heath, Hertfordshire, is investing a further £150,000 in the first phase of a two-stage refurbishment of its meeting rooms, following a £1.5m refurbishment of its rooms and kitchen, including the addition of a gym.
“We’re re-emphasising our commitment to organisations seeking high quality meeting and event space, creative ideas and facilities and flexible menu options,” says Director of Sales and Marketing at Down Hall Country House Hotel, Anna Snoep.
The refurbishments first phase will see the four conference rooms in the hotel’s main building upgraded. Additionally, four breakout rooms will be created on the upper floor of the main building. These will consist of two Executive Boardrooms, a café style room to be used alongside the boardrooms and a creative hub featuring whiteboards for brainstorming, a Wii, Twister carpet, ice-breaker games, bean bags and board games.
The refurbishment is expected to be completed by late Spring 2014. The second phase, to refurbish the hotel’s other meeting rooms, is expected to begin later this year.
Down Hall has also created a new style of conference package to enable organisers to tailor-make each element of a delegate’s meals and refreshments. With Make Your Day organisers are free to select catering options that suit their needs and budgets. The hotel has also launched new menus, while all meeting rooms will feature a ’sweetie shop’, with sweet jars in each room offering old-fashioned sweets and bags for delegates to fill.
