Capita Travel and Events launches new taxi booking service

Event management agency, Capita Travel and Events, has launched a new taxi booking service which, the agency claims, will help achieve pre-agreed rates, provide a clear audit trail and avoid costly expense claims. The service is fully integrated with travellers’ rail confirmation and allows delegates travelling to a conference or event to book a taxi that automatically coincides with their train arrival time.

Capita says cost centre details for bookings are pre-populated with the rail booking data to give businesses a better view of the total cost of each journey. Invoicing can be managed by Capita Travel and Events and bookings can also be made by calling the agency’s reservations centres.

Capita says the service can also organise a taxi share process for duplicate bookings and provide full transparency on costs.

“Businesses want solutions that simplify travel, increase security and reduce costs,” says Head of Rail Product UK and International at Capita Travel and Events, Raj Sachdave (pictured). “They need visibility of what, where and why employees are spending but, traditionally, the cost of taxis is difficult to audit.

“Our service addresses the challenges above and the changing ways that businesses are buying and travellers are booking. With our integrated data, our customers will get a better view of the total cost of each trip and can subsequently reduce spend.”

Tim Jordan, Director of Operations at CabFind, the company delivering the service, adds: “On the back of customer demand, Capita Travel and Events has developed a taxi service that is unique to the business travel market because of its integration with rail confirmations. They saw the potential to simplify bookings in such a way that created a win-win for businesses and travellers.”
