Blackpool welcomed more than 200 key tourism figureheads when it hosted the UKinbound annual conference at the Hilton Hotel, 5-7 February.
Tour operators, hoteliers, wholesalers, destination management companies and attractions were among the businesses represented at the two-day event.
Speakers at the conference included Graham Pickett, Global Leader of Aviation and Travel and Deloitte; Tom Buncle from Yellow Railroad; Nigel Huddleston, Head of Travel at Google; and Sandie Dawie from VisitBritain.
Delegates enjoyed a formal gala dinner and the UKinbound Awards for Excellence, which were held at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Entertainment on the evening included a live performance of songs from Mamma Mia! ahead of the international show coming to Blackpool for a 12-week run this summer and West End star Jonathan Wilkes performed with his swing band.
A number of delegates also took part in a familiarisation trip of the resort.
“This year’s convention had a fantastic buzz,” said UKinbound Chairman Rita Beckwith, OBE. “Attendance swelled by new membership of more than 330 members and also by an appealing convention programme. In addition it was wonderful to welcome our members to Blackpool, highlighting the multi-million pound regeneration of this seaside resort.”
VisitBlackpool Tourism Manager Mandy Tythe-McCallum, added: “We were delighted to welcome UKinbound and so many tourism delegates to Blackpool. This was a successful event for us and we hope to see many of the delegates return with their clients in the future.”
