The UK’s largest car manufacturer, Nissan, began production of its second-generation Qashqai vehicle in Sunderland last week. Northern event production company R&B Group helped produce the big reveal at a media launch in the reception area at Nissan HQ in Sunderland.
R&B staged previous factory launches for the Infinity the Note models.
Having recently won two AV Awards for creative use of projection mapping technology on events, R&B Group delivered a visual display showcasing the new model to Nissan’s international executives and media.
The Nissan Qashqai began rolling off the production line on 22 January at the rate of one every 61 seconds, with some 300,000 expected to be produced each year.
The launch of the new model has already created 500 new jobs at the Sunderland plant.
Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, welcomed Nissan’s contribution to the British car industry. “We want to build on this. That is why we are working together with business to give companies like Nissan the confidence to invest, delivering skilled jobs, driving growth and building a stronger economy,” he said.
R&B Group clients include the Royal College of Nursing, Morrisons, the Chartered Institute of Housing, Komatsu, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and Sage plc, as well as a large number of SMEs and conference venues.
