On the back of providing facilities at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, UK-based temporary building and event structure supplier Neptunus is bringing its temporary structures to the Sochi Winter Games.
In its second outing partnering with Heineken and the Dutch Olympic Committee, Neptunus is providing a double-deck temporary structure on the grounds of the AZIMUT Hotel Sochi, just 500 metres from the Olympic Park.
Complete with a large entrance lobby, a radio station, TV studio, storage facilities and rooftop ice bar, the Heineken House is connected by a covered walkway to the Olympic Club, where athletes, sponsors and VIP guests can mingle during the Games. It took Neptunus technicians only a week to build.
The structure is similar to the one Neptunus built for the London 2012 Games, except for one weather-based adjustment. The Sochi Heineken House is completely enclosed by walls and windows to keep out the frosty Russian air.
“We have experience working in Russia, which meant that we were able to deliver a high quality venue suitable for world-class athletes in just a few days,” said Neptunus’ UK MD April Trasler. “Neptunus is delighted to partner with Heineken on this exciting project.”
