Delegates attending major events in the Dundee and Angus area can take advantage of new discount offers with local suppliers and use vouchers supplied by the Dundee and Angus Convention Bureau via its new Delegate Passport scheme.
Delegates simply show a printed version of the voucher or an electronic copy on their tablet or smartphone to claim their discount.
The Delegate Passport is valid for delegates, their friends and family and the bureau hopes it will not only promote local supplier services but attract more visitors to the destination.
Karen Tocher (pictured), Business Tourism Manager at the bureau, says: “Feedback from conference organisers and delegates has indicated that they and their families are looking for ways to explore the destination while conferencing in Dundee and Angus. The Delegate Passport provides them with the perfect opportunity to experience more of the destination while benefiting from great offers and discounts.”
Conferences and events held in the area generate an economic impact of more than £55m each year, attracting over 220,000 delegates from the UK and around the world.
“Delegate Passport provides delegates and their accompanying friends and family with a memorable experience of Dundee and Angus and Scotland, encouraging them to return to the destination as leisure tourists. The Delegate Passport has deals for many award winning visitor attractions, including galleries, museums and golf courses.
Delegate Passport includes the chance to board the RRS Discovery and find out how its crew survived two winters in arctic conditions and can be used with selected local taxi services.
